    Pros

My beginning 24-hour interval with Pearson was March 23-2021. Since and then I have become a Certified Test Administrator, and November 23-2021 I became a Test Eye Managing director. I take actually enjoyed my time hither with Pearson. My dream was ever to be a teacher. This dream was cut short, but besides raising my 3 daughters Pearson has brought me as shut to being a teacher every bit I am likely to exist. The people at Pearson and my staff are wonderful. I accept never had an employer before who was so caring and so accepting of and then many different situations. The pay is wonderful, with functioning reviews every yr. The only thing that would make this career better was if our Centre was open full time testing.

    Cons

    Can't think of whatsoever cons.

  2. Electric current Employee, more than 1 yr

    Pros

Piece of work from home, great people to work with.

    Cons

Not enough opportunity for full-time employment.

  3. Electric current Employee, more than than one year

    Pros

Great job for the work required. Every bit an entry level / no experience needed job, the pay is well above other similar positions and the work is not unfairly demanding.

    Cons

Hours and scheduling lead to a very cluttered lifestyle. Some weeks even equally part time I oft arroyo 40+ hours a week, which can be a good thing, but other weeks I struggle to articulate x hours, if that. There is little to no warning nor design to the amount of hours. Additionally in that location is piffling to no pattern or rhythm to the days that are scheduled. Information technology is impossible to plan a life around this sort of scheduling. Even with highly competitive pay and benefits, a second job is most a requirement even if you piece of work this position as a full fourth dimension employee just because of the spotty scheduling.

    Pros

I have had multiple promotional opportunities in my fourth dimension at the company. The people are amazing to work with. Benefits are amazing. The charge per unit of employees in my function of the arrangement who choose to get out, only then render to Pearson is very high. This is one of the reasons I have stayed at the company even though I might exist able to have a job elsewhere and heave earnings. In my role I take great flexibility and good piece of work lief-balance. I am fully remote, and my managers have e'er been supportive.

    Cons

Line whatever large organization, the structure is circuitous, and the information you need tin can sometimes exist hard to find. The one major frustration I have had in my time with Pearson is that there are seemingly constant organizational realignments happening. Some may run across this as a negative, but it does position the company to continue to accommodate to changing business needs. In my feel, Pearson is extremely employee focused and works hard to realign talent into other roles if a restructure impacts an area. In many cases, organizational changes don't fifty-fifty event in loss of jobs, they just change and realign reporting structure. It would be skilful to become to a place of less frequent change in this area and then that advice can flow more hands between teams.

  5. Current Employee, less than i twelvemonth

    Pros

I dear my task with Pearson! I dear my boss and how he runs our office. This position was made for me!

    Cons

When I started a year ago I was working mlots of hours, more than I wanted to be honest. But, come September 2021 the hours have been drastically cut to ane day a calendar week, perchance none. Because of this desperate loss of wages, I have had to surrender my motorcar and insurance. I live with a friend splitting expenses, which I tin can no longer exercise. My debt has risen since working here. One more thing. I have ever drawn unemployment on part-time wages. When I attempted to exercise so here after the hours were lowered to one day a week, I received a copy of an internal memo to Jonathan and myself regarding the unemployment I filed for. This letter says that the reason I am not working is "not" due to lack of hours available. If the office is airtight all calendar week except for one day, isn't that considered "loss of hours and wages"? Can anyone explain this to me? Is there anyone willing to?

  6. Electric current Employee, less than 1 twelvemonth

    Pros

I recently started at Pearson, moving over from one of their virtual schools. As a large corporation, you have to accept some delay with HR and IT, but my team is really great and has fabricated the transition easy. Benefits appear to be good, with several options for health insurance. Tuition assistance, 401(1000) lucifer, good PTO, reimbursement for an function chair for your domicile office, monthly book allowance, etc.

    Cons

So far, simply the delay in 60 minutes and Information technology assistance has been the most frustrating, but everything eventually gets done.

  7. Former Employee, less than i yr

    Pros

Part-time hours; somewhat flexible schedule. Co-workers were kind.

    Cons

The recruiting procedure was a nightmare. I am pretty sure the recruiter I dealt with was working out of an alley dumpster in New York Urban center... her phone line was constantly loud and tinny - no way to understand annihilation she was saying. Her advice via email was poor, and it ended up dragging my onboarding process on much longer than it needed to exist. The pay is ridiculously low. Upon hire, I tried to negotiate my hourly wage ($xi.15) with the recruiter, who assured me there was nothing else she could do. Three months afterward I quit, I run into they are now paying the role I vacated $14.00/hourly! Early mornings, late nights, some weekends. The centre was a stuffy room with no opening windows (and then no fresh air). Safety leaving the heart in the dark hours was non great. Parking was a mess. Center manager was kind, but technologically incompetent with little-to-no noesis in appropriate man resource areas. Pearson continually had her understaff the center to "save on payroll"... to the indicate she was terrified to accept even one single minute of overtime. Test takers could be condescending and rude. The early forenoon process of having locked doors was a nightmare for both test takers and staff.

  8. Current Employee, less than 1 yr

    Pros

It is a job and it is remote

    Cons

The directions they give me don't work and information technology doesn't lucifer the steps you have to have once yous go into the system. The pay is too low and should be at to the lowest degree $20.

    Pros

Things were great until new leadership came on lath. Lots of subtle changes but constant changes. When you lot look dorsum and add them all up its a lot. Not much business organization for traditions or history or respect for those who laid the groundwork for the slap-up teaching that is provided.

    Cons

Leadership seems very removed from the boots on the ground.
